Social Gravel Grind – Sunday 10th July – Departing from Clifton Creek Hall

Join your fellow club members on a social gravel grind exploring a couple of the excellent gravel loops in the Clifton Creek area.

The ride will consist of two 15km loops starting and returning to the Clifton Creek Community Hall, giving the option of either a total of 15km/160 vertical meters or 30km/420vm ride.

The first loop (15km) will have riders drop down the sealed Polly Walker Rd and then head north along Waterholes Rd which has a steady grade and idyllic rural scenery, before cutting across the fun and flowy Stockyard Tk back onto Deptford Rd to loop back to the hall.

Those continuing on to do the full 30km ride will then head out to the west loop (another 15km) along Boyds Rd, through windy forest crossing the Clifton Creek, before a short but sharp climb up Howitt Spur Tk which is rewarded with great views. We’ll then descend down Turners Rd and link back into Deptford Rd for a cruisy return on bitumen back to the hall.

The hall has brand new electric BBQ facilities, a large covered area and toilets (plus tennis courts and a playground…)

Everyone is welcome to bring something to throw on the BBQs, hang out and socialise after the ride.

This is a no-drop social ride and not a race. Riders will be expected to be self sufficient for food, water and any tools/spares for the duration of the ride.
